Weight is such an emotive area. We are constantly being bombarded by the media with images of how we should look. We are relentlessly being told to eat this, eat that; lose 7 pounds in 7 days; try this wonder drug to melt away the fat; drink this tea and wake up thinner. We are told we are too fat.
Sometimes we are told we are too thin. Well meaning friends or relatives entice us with 'one more piece, it won't hurt' or 'you've done so well, go on, treat yourself'. We've all heard it, time and time again.
Do the latest fad diets work? Maybe. Sometimes, if we stick to it, we may lose a bit of weight but, we usually put it all back on and a bit more besides.
What concerns me more, is the negative self image we end up with. We see girls, younger than ever before, obsessing over their weight and how they look with depression rates increasing all the time.
Perhaps there is a better way?
Through hypnosis, we can identify the causes of weight gain or loss, establish a healthier relationship with food and make healthier choices. Weight management isn't about going on a diet; its about our relationship with the foods we eat, our portion control, eating what we like but knowing when we have had enough, making the right choices. Its about changing our relationship with exercise so we see it as a pleasure not a chore - some 'me' time. But even more than that, its about our relationship with ourselves; being happy with ourselves. Its about looking in the mirror and thinking 'I look great', irrespective of the number on the scales. If you want to change your weight, we can do that. If you want to feel confident and happy in your own skin, we can do that too.
